Closing more sales
How to close more sales - A multitude of answers.
It is a truth that if you were to lock 10 successful business men in a room and tell them to come up with the single most effective way to increase sales you would get at least 11 answers. The reason for this is that selling is a complex challenge and all of the business men in that room would argue their corner for what they thought had worked for them. They would use their hard won experience to tell you about process, negotiating, closing, pipelines, rich product features, segmentation, advertising, price, performance, team work, hierarchical needs, marketing mix and so on.
The secret.
However if you were to ask the businessmen what it is that makes them buy products and services then almost all of them would agree that they would buy products and services that they ‘needed’ and that offered them ‘best value for money’. It therefore follows that the simplest and most effective way to sell more is simply to offer products and services that your prospective customers want (must haves) and offer them the best value for money in the market place. It’s why you can sell ice cream to Eskimos. Eskimos love the taste, they want to eat ice cream, so they will buy it, you simply have to ensure your ice cream offers the most value.
Not as easy as it sounds.
So that’s it then – you know the secret – sell stuff that people want and provide value for money. You no longer need our services – job done. Except it’s not that easy, your competitors will undoubtedly claim they provide the best value, you will have to compete and its unlikely the playing field will be even. What real value do you offer? Times are tough and here is your biggest challenge:
Are you too close to the coal face to see the rich seam of increased sales opportunity that is certainly available to your business now even in the recession!
